Safari Pedals Everything Bundle for macOS
Description
If you know what a slap-back delay does to a vocal, Yak Delay gives you that same slap but with a knob that makes the repeats sound like they're melting. That's the general idea behind the Everything Bundle — familiar effect types pushed through controls that feel a bit more reckless than what your stock DAW plugins offer.
Dirt and space
Gorilla Drive adds a thick, congested saturation that sits well on a drum bus. Cobra Fuzz goes further, ripping the signal into a spitty, gated mess that works on a parallel bass track. On the cleaner side, Rhino Reverb and Ladybug Reverb are two different flavours of space — Rhino is larger and more metallic, Ladybug is shorter and darker, almost like a room mic stuffed in a cupboard.
Time and texture
Rabbit Tape and Cassette Bunny both lean into wow, flutter and noise. Rabbit Tape is a single-head delay with a runaway feedback path. Cassette Bunny is a lo-fi texture box that pushes the top end down and brings the hiss up. Sun Bear and Bull Sub Machine handle low-end duties — Sun Bear adds a rounded, analogue-style warmth, while Bull Sub Machine generates sub frequencies an octave below the input. Zebra Clipper is a simple hard-clipper with a wet/dry mix, useful for taming transient spikes without flattening the whole sound.
Cassette Bunny joined the lo-fi slot in 2026.05
Version 2026.05 added Cassette Bunny to the bundle. Before that, the lo-fi slot was mostly covered by chaining Rabbit Tape with a separate EQ roll-off. Now you get a dedicated box that does the full wow-and-dust treatment in one plug-in — a proper time-saver if you build lo-fi textures often.
Earlier updates quietly expanded the roster. Planet of the Amps Pack arrived as a batch of guitar-focused amp and cab models that also work nicely on keys and synth leads. Level-Or joined as a simple levelling tool for evening out vocal takes without setting a full compressor. Most additions have been about filling practical gaps rather than reinventing what the bundle does.
Plugin not showing up in Logic or Ableton after install
Plugin doesn't appear in your DAW after installing. This usually means the host scanned the wrong folder. In Logic, do a full Audio Units reset from the Plugin Manager. In Ableton Live, hold Option and click "Rescan" in Preferences > Plug-ins. If you're on an Apple Silicon Mac running your DAW natively, make sure you installed the ARM version — the Intel builds sometimes need Rosetta to show up.
Cobra Fuzz or Dragon EQ kills the output. A few of these plug-ins have internal gain staging that clips abruptly. Dial the input back before you open the plug-in window. If the signal has already gone silent, bypass the plug-in, pull the input gain down to about 40%, then re-engage. Zebra Clipper can help tame things before you hit the heavier effects.
Cassette Bunny introduces a loud hiss even with the noise knob low. This is by design — the plug-in models a cheap cassette deck with fixed noise floor behaviour. Put a gentle gate or an expander after it in the chain, or lean into it and use it as a texture layer on a send rather than an insert.
Activation loops after a macOS update. Occasionally the system security policy resets and blocks the licence file. Re-run the installer from the package and restart your DAW before trying to load any of the bundle plug-ins.
Raw, scrappier parameter sets next to Soundtoys 5
Next to Soundtoys 5, the Everything Bundle feels more raw. Soundtoys gives you polished analogue-modeled effects with deep preset libraries and MIDI control everywhere. Safari Pedals' approach is scrappier — fewer parameters per plug-in, but the ones they give you go further off the rails. You might spend ten minutes tweaking EchoBoy to nail a tape delay. With Rabbit Tape, you twist one knob and the whole thing starts feeding back in a way that sounds like the machine is about to break.
Compared to Plugin Alliance's Mega Bundle, the Safari collection is less about mastering-grade precision and more about character. Plugin Alliance gives you dozens of EQs and compressors modelled after specific hardware units. Dragon EQ and Level-Or don't chase that kind of forensic accuracy — they're colour pieces, not measurement tools. If you already own a few clean channel strips, the Everything Bundle fills the opposite end of the spectrum.
Against Valhalla DSP's reverbs and delays, the Safari reverbs are more idiosyncratic. Valhalla VintageVerb or Room can do almost any space you ask of them. Flamingo Verb and Rhino Reverb each do one or two spaces with a strong signature — Rhino's metallic wash is unmistakable once you've used it on a snare. You wouldn't swap Valhalla out for these, but you might layer Ladybug Reverb underneath a Valhalla hall to dirty up the tail.
