Lock the frame rate to match your Mac

Two options sit buried in the display menu and make a real difference. Switch the frame rate cap to 30 or 60 depending on your machine — an older Intel Mac will thank you for locking it at 30. The game defaults to an uncapped setting that can turn fans into jet engines during jungle traversal.

Turn off motion blur while you are there. The effect is heavy in underwater sections and does the camera work no favours. Reducing it makes combat and platforming much easier to read.

Hold E to harvest everything in reach

  • Hold E to harvest. Tapping the interact key on every single plant gets old after the first hour. Holding it down lets Lara grab everything in reach without a separate press per resource. The prompt never tells you this.
  • Mud camouflage is not automatic. When you spot a mud patch, you have to crouch in it deliberately. The icon only appears once Lara is properly coated. Skip that step and enemies will still spot you.
  • Fast travel map filtering. The map screen has a filter that hides completed camps and challenge tomb markers. Open the legend with a click and uncheck what you do not need. Useful when Paititi starts filling up with icons.
  • Survival Instincts highlights more than loot. Tap the key in trap rooms and it will briefly flash breakable walls and climbable surfaces you might miss in the dark. Some of the best loot hides behind those walls.

Interface languages include Arabic, German, Italian, and Simplified Chinese. For voice acting, English and Russian are both available in the Mac build.
