The mythological Persian setting is full of trap rooms and vertical spaces that demand platforming skill. If backtracking through a large map annoys you, this one will grate.

Skip if you hate reading maps

You can pin screenshots to the map to mark locked doors, which helps. But the game expects you to learn its layout, so players who just want to push forward may bounce off.

Turn down the camera jolt on heavy hits

The defaults are a bit aggressive. Open the settings before you swing a sword.

• Screen shake intensity. Drop it to 50% or lower. The camera jolts on every heavy hit and at full strength it obscures more than it immerses.
• Parry timing window. Switch from Normal to Extended while you learn enemy patterns. You can always tighten it later.
• Guided mode. Turn it off if you enjoy getting lost. Leaving it on pins the next objective to your map and puts a glowing trail on the path — useful for a first run, but it flattens the exploration.

Slide downhill for a faster sprint

A few things the early tutorials mention once and never repeat.

• Slide into a downhill sprint. Hold down while dashing on a slope and Sargon drops into a slide. Faster than running, and it chains into a long jump at the edge.
• Quick-map tap. A short press of the map button opens the full map; a long press opens the area map you last viewed. Saves menu-diving when you are checking a nearby dead end.
• Air dash reset. Touching a wall after an air dash lets you dash again before landing. Tight platforming sequences assume you know this.
