MiSide for macOS
Description
For players who like their horror with a side of domestic routine. You step into a world that looks like a mobile life-sim, complete with bright rooms and a smiling companion. It doesn't stay cosy for long. The game pulls you through several hours of a story that branches off in unexpected directions based on what you poke at.
Cards, cooking, then the world warps around you
You explore a flat, interact with objects, and spend time with the character who lives there. One minute you're playing cards or fixing a meal; the next you're following a thread that warps the environment around you. The activities shift without warning, which keeps the tone unsettled.
Is the whole thing on rails?
Not entirely. There are nonlinear sections where the order you do things, or whether you find certain items, changes what you see next. It's not a branching epic, but your choices nudge the scenes you end up in. Replaying a section can surface moments you missed the first time.
How long is a typical run?
Expect a few hours if you follow the main pulls. Poking into side cupboards and optional conversations stretches it further. The game saves to a local folder inside the app package, so your progress stays put between launches.
What about presentation?
The soundtrack is original and does a lot of the heavy lifting for atmosphere. Voice acting comes in Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese. You can switch the interface language from the main menu or on first launch.
Fewer freezes when the flat turns darker on Apple Silicon
The 0.93L build stabilised the Wineskin wrapper for Apple Silicon. That means fewer random freezes during scene transitions. On an M1 Mac mini running Sequoia, the game no longer hangs when it swaps from the cosy flat to the darker corridor segments.
Save behaviour is worth knowing. Your progress lives deep inside the app bundle, at MiSide.app/Contents/SharedSupport/prefix/drive_c/users/Sikarugir/AppData/LocalLow/AIHASTO/MiSideFull/Save. That's normal for a Wineskin port, but it means a standard app deletion wipes your saves. Back that folder up if you plan to reinstall.
Launch quirks are rare now. If the app bounces once and quits, the Fix script in the mounted disk image usually sorts it. After that, it goes straight into the language picker, then the main menu.
Atmospheric horror that rewards opening every drawer
Players who enjoy horror that builds through atmosphere rather than combat. The game rewards you for poking around—someone who opens every drawer and exhausts every dialogue option will see scenes a speed-runner misses entirely.
It also suits anyone who's ever wondered what happens when a mascot character realises she can rewrite the rules. The life-sim bits are genuinely pleasant, which makes the tonal whiplash hit harder. If you like stories where the environment talks back to you, this one delivers.
Mod tinkerers have a clear path in too: the standard plugins folder sits at MiSide.app/Contents/SharedSupport/prefix/drive_c/KS Games/MiSide/BepInEx/plugins. Players who grab a MiSide Mac torrent will find the Wineskin build already handles ARM translation without extra fiddling.
